Mrs. Caprez RSS
Hello and welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!  My name is Katie Caprez and I am excited to be the full time school counselor at Ben Franklin Elementary School. This is my tenth year in the School District of Menomonee Falls and my sixteenth year in the education field.

Education:
University of Wisconsin-Madison; Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; Masters of Science in Educational Psychology

Classes Taught:
I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to teach weekly developmental guidance lessons to students in first through fifth grades using the Second Step curriculum.   The Second Step program is designed to help students learn how to get along with others and also how to be a successful student in school.  Students are learning skills every day that will help them be successful in many different situations.  Topics covered throughout the school year include:  Skills for Learning, Empathy, Emotion Management, Problem Solving, Protective Behaviors, Healthy Choices and Careers.
In addition to teaching weekly guidance classes to the students at Ben Franklin throughout the school year, I also meet with students individually and I run small groups with students as well. I am available to assist ALL Ben Franklin families and students with any concerns they may be having in their school and/or home lives.

Availability:
Please feel free to contact me anytime, if you are having any concerns about your child, or if you should need anything else that I may be of assistance to you. Please contact me at 255-8470 or by email at caprkat@sdmfschools.org.
